Bulgarian Long-term and Palliative Care Society
The “Bulgarian Long-Term and Palliative Care Society” is a non-governmental organisation for public benefit. Its main goal is to establish and develop long-term care and palliative medicine, health and medical science in the interest of patients, their families, relatives and society. It is a non-profit organisation of a non-political and non-religious nature.
To fulfil the main goal of the Foundation, its authorities carry out the following activities and events:
Activity “SCIENTIA EST POTENTIA” (“Knowledge is Power”)
– Performing research independently and in cooperation, and participating in research projects and programmes in the fields of long-term care, palliative medicine, health and welfare.
– Publishing the results achieved.
– Assisting medical and non-medical specialists in becoming familiar with the latest achievements in the fields of long-term care and palliative medicine and related medical and non-medical specialties, health and well-being. Assisting in their dissemination, implementation and development.
Activity “DOCENDO DISCIMUS” (“Learning while Teaching”)
– Bringing together physicians and other professionals working in the fields of long-term care and palliative medicine and all related areas, and contributing to their professional development, specialisation and improvement, including through courses, seminars, etc.
– Collaborating with educational and research institutions, hospitals, organisations and individuals at home and abroad.
– Publishing materials aimed at education and training for doctors, patients, their families and friends, as well as the general public.
Activity “White Swallow”
– Organising volunteering activities in accordance with the main objectives of the “Bulgarian Long-Term and Palliative Care Society”.
– Organising activities aimed at helping patients, their families and relatives, by providing recommendations, advice and information on health, moral and ethical, legal and other aspects of long-term and palliative care, health and welfare.
Activity “MENS AGITAT MOLEM” (“The Spirit Moves Matter”)
– Organising congresses, conferences, symposia, etc., either independently or in cooperation with other organisations, dealing with issues of medical science and practice, including in the fields of long-term care and palliative medicine.
– Organising the “National Congress on Long-Term Care and Palliative Medicine with international participation”.
– Organising “International Conferences on Long-Term Care and Palliative Medicine”.
– Organising conferences entitled “MENS AGITAT MOLEM”.
– Publishing the magazine “Long-Term Care and Palliative Medicine”.
– Collaborating with the media.
Activity “CONSENSUS GENTIUM” (“Universal Consensus”)
– Providing the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, medical universities and other state and non-state institutions with opinions and conclusions on issues of long-term care and palliative medicine, health and welfare.
– Developing and proposing policies in the fields of medicine, science, education, long-term and palliative care, health and welfare.
– Conducting activities to promote the objectives of the Bulgarian Long-Term and Palliative Care Society by establishing international contacts and cooperation with similar and other organisations.
Activity “Bulgarian Cochrane Society”
– The “Bulgarian Cochrane Society” is created and developed as Bulgaria’s representative for cooperation with the international Cochrane community and Cochrane national societies from different countries in the name of science and health.
– Disseminating results among the scientific community and the general public through publications and events.
– Organising conferences, workshops, seminars and other events in the field of activity of the Cochrane community.
– Organising the International Cochrane Congress.
SPICT Uses
SPICT will be proposed to the Ministry of Health and to the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and to the community for wide use in the health care system, and by social workers, and non medical staff or workers.
