The SPICT-LIS-PH initiative is driven by a strong commitment to advancing palliative care in the Philippines. Its primary goal is to ensure that all Filipinos, with life shortening conditions or illnesses, have access to high-quality, compassionate care, ultimately promoting a better quality of life and preserving dignity in the face of these illnesses.
Mara Raisel Vergara-Romulo, a graduate fellow at the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), is engaged in research that advocates for the advancement of primary palliative care in the Philippines through the SPICT-LIS-PH project.
Dr. Karin Estepa-Garcia, is a consultant and research mentor for the development and implementation of SPICT-LIS-PH. Her expertise has been crucial in shaping and executing this project.
